Its speculated that they can accurately test up to 90 days but most of the people I talk to you should be fine and small amounts of use (depending on the substance) and not have done it the past 2 or 3 weeks. This was several years ago (4 or 5) but we were taught that the root of the hair was necessary, and from that they could detect all drugs taken in a person's lifetime.
