The closer the piece of hair was to the scalp the younger it is. If they test from the bottom it could be years old. So if you have short hair it could be just months old.

not sure and it varies on the drug but I know that the hair test goes back further than any other test I think I remember it being a matter of years

I am not sure why this is in the pregnancy category but it depends on what drugs are in your system on how long it will be out of our system or in your hair. I know that with pot it stays in your hair for a believe a couple of months and stays in your system for a month. I also believe that coke gets out of your system within a couple of days, and the same with pain pills. (Now with coke and how long it stays in your hair I have no clue) Now with any other drugs I am not sure.

Don't listen to anyone that says it has to do with your hair length. Not true. They test the hair follicle so even if you shave your head right before it doesn't matter. Depending on how heavy the usage, they can see between 3-6 months

A hair follicle test can be ranged from 30 days -18 months depending on how long the hair is. For a male with hair an inch and a half long, it will go back 30 days. If the hair on the head is shorter than that, they will take the hair off of another place on his body..under the arm, chest or legs...and in this case, body hair always goes back 18 months because it grows at a slower rate than hair on the head!

okay well i did a hair test for my work most places only go back 90 days and they only test the first 1.5 inch of you hair the thing i would like to know is....if you just recently gave birth can the drugs they give you effect you test results??
