I'm looking into a better job and just found out they hair test. I don't do drugs but my boyfriend smokes pot.... Will this show up in a hair test? And how well do those special shampoos to get it out work?

second hand should not affect hair follicles but never the less if it bothers you stay away from it

Yes it will show up due to second hand smoke, but if you aren't smoking it then it should only be trace amounts. I have heard of the shampoo, but I don't know how well it works. I imagine it just covers up the THC for X amount of time. Just follow the directions carefully. That is your best bet.

A hair test will be able to tell anything you have done your entire life. I'm not sure on second hand smoke.But if you have ever done any prescription drugs or nonprescription they will show up.

1) Those shampoos are a scam, the THC isn't on the hair, its IN IT, so unless you go bald your up SH17 Creek without a paddle.

2) Nobody and I mean NOBODY drug tests with hair, it is WAY too expensive. Unless your applying for some HIGH level government job, but even then it HIGHLY unlikely that they will do a hair test.

To answer your question directly, yet it will show up on the test, but it will be so small that they will probably ignore it. If you didn't actually get high from the smoke, then you're fine.

They don't care if you actually held the joint and inhaled or just inhaled someone else's smoke. YOU INHALED!

The presence of marijuana is detected "in" the hair. Not "on" the hair. Even if you shaved your hair off there's about 3 weeks of "growth" that follows which will still contain the chemical "in the new hair".

Even if you passed the test, your clothes will reek of marijuana and since the test results are given to the prospective employer with "notes" or "exceptions" you'd still not be hired. I know, I spent 36 years as a Hiring Manager.

The only way you're going to get ahead in life is to dump that useless excuse for a human being. Otherwise, you got what you asked for.
